PALANKALAMA is an instrumental music project based in Porto. Its influences are primarily rooted in the worlds of folk, rock, and jazz. Founded in 2014, Palankalama has maintained a steady and consistent schedule of activity to this day, creating original music, releasing LPs, and performing concerts. To date, the band has released three albums of original material: the first, *Palankalama* (2016), released by Banzé; the second, *Boca de Raia* (2018), self-released by the band; and the third, *Lama Pela Anca* (2022), released by Saliva Diva.

Palankalama’s music can be interpreted as a long quotation of geographical places—both real and imaginary—and an exploration of the evocative musical universes of cinema or popular music. It is a work centered on soundscapes that feel almost familiar, where the visual and abstract aspects of the music are intended to serve as a window into places of deviation and fiction.
