O Gajo’s journey continues with Trovoada: released in March 2025, this fifth album, presented in an extended format, showcases a more mature, rhythmic, and immersive work that broadens the horizons of his sound.

While his music was previously mostly instrumental, O Gajo now brings us lyrics as well. João Morais, already missing the act of singing, gave voice to his compositions, adding a new level of depth to his sonic storytelling

O Gajo is a project marked by the restlessness of our times, and it doesn’t go unnoticed in the national music scene. It was awarded at the 2024 Iberian Festival Awards by the INATEL Foundation for its innovative contribution to folk music. In this new chapter, O Gajo reaffirms himself as an artist in constant reinvention, without ever losing his identity.
