This workshop aims to demonstrate and showcase the various stages of the traditional process of making “cabeçudos” from paper pulp.

Instructor: Augusto Quintãos is a craftsman born into a family of tinsmiths in Santo Tirso who, as a self-taught artist, has always created works of folk art. Since 2022, he has devoted himself to crafting “cabeçudos” and “gigantones,” using traditional paper-mâché techniques, an artistic practice that is quite popular in the Entre Douro e Minho region.
